(Querist) 13 November 2013 This query is : Resolved 
when property belong to Shamlat land in Punjab & a person has possession over it more then 20 years and he made it residential as well as commercial property and has electricty bills on his name & he is also dealing his business trasction on his name the same property but on Jamabandi his name is not appeared but those persons appeared as possession of that land are not traceable from the last more than 50 years & the person may be died & his legal heirs shifted to another city.How can a person on possession can become owner of the property ? Do he need to file civil suit & aganist whom ?

you can raise plea of adverse possession as defence . you cannot become owner of property
