Dear sir
>may I asked question/clarification
>under Provision of RTI
>from Income tax department
>regarding Tax ability of any income i.e. whether taxable or not
>if taxable then under which head..
Dr. Jyothi Vishwanath (Expert) 08 August 2013
You cannot ask this from the IT department.
RTI can be filed for seeking information about facts and not for seeking information about law.

u cannot do it.

Consult a CA or Tax Consultant for the purpose.

Dear Jay Prakash,

You say you are in your last year of Articleship.

Pl. tell clearly under what provision of the I.T. Act, the stipend being received by you is exempt?

What is the citation of the H.C. decision which you are referring to.

As a C.A. aspirant, you should be very clear in expression.

First give the above information.

In the query at

http://www.lawyersclubindia.com/experts/Stipend-income-414116.asp#.UgRx7T-Lq_I

you have mentioned that you are doctor doing DNB after MD (While both are equivalent and no need of DNB after MD)

However, answer question raised by the expert Anirudh ji.

Each and every income(barring agricultural) earned in any name, stipend or scholarship,is taxable if it goes above exempted limit. There is no provision as such for exemption in the Act,then there can not be ruling.
