Do a small accident case will show in police verification

(Querist) 24 January 2013 This query is : Resolved
Nearly 10 years ago(during my college days)while driving a car my friend had commited an accident which caused damage to another moving car.At that time,my friend who is driving is under alcoholic influence and also he belongs to very rich family (Political). There were a total of 5 friends including me travelling in the car then. After the accident, we have absconded from the spot.

No person has been injured. The drivers father requested me to plead guilty before court on behalf of his son.
Inorder to claim insurance, the damaged car owner had filed a case in PS. I had paid a fine of Rs 550 then in a small court.
Now, I am preparing for IPS exam. If i donot disclose this case, will this case be shown in Police verification as I had been residing in the same PS limits within past 25 years?

Generally in police verification the history of last 6 years is taken into consideration so the chances to show the incident of 10 years old is difficult to come to light.

Even if the same is shown, such offence do not come within the definition of moral turpitude so you shall not face any legal problem in selection and appointment.

sir, thank u very much for reply.
But my question is if I had concealed this case details in the Attestation Form (where usually asks for whether "had u ever been convicted in any court of law "column)since at present I got Bank PO selection and now I had to fill the above column in the Form. (But my aim is IPS)

Also there is another column asking for PS Limits where I had been graduated(that accident occured in same PS Limits).

I had no problem if I loose this PO job for concealing this case. But I donot want to happen the samefor the future IPS exam as it is my dream.

If I conceal this case, then will I loose IPS selection in future?

But i have a different view. After being selected you have to fill one four paged form which in fourth page has a questionaire and you are requested to stated:-

have you even been arrested?
have you even been on bail?
Have you ever been convicted?

You have to intimate the addresses (with name of thana) where you have resided for the last five years. But scope of this questionnaire is not restricted to five years.

my sincere thanks sir for reply.
sir, whether these type of petty cases be known to police during verification stages or only big criminal cases are known?

If this petty case has been concealed by me and revealed by them in future then will it lead to any disqualification?

You should first of all enquire from the concerned police station whether such record is available there or not. If available then you should not hide any information otherwise it may lead a big problem for you in future.

it is not the question whether police is aware of the case at this stage (which I believe they are) but even if they are not aware you are expected to disclose in the attestation form. On perusal of the form and the record they have they have to give a report.

In case the matter is hidden and subsequently revealed, (mostly likely by the same friend whom you favoured) you are liable to be dismissed even at fag end.

The advice of Sudhir contain logic.

I agree with Raj Kumar Makkad.
