compassionate appointment is no more mandatory, it has to be guided by rules and regulations only and subject to availability of post.

Generally class III & IV posts are made available which do not fit to you keeping in view your qualification. Moreover, such claim can be made within one year of demise of employee if family is in harness condition.

This is a repeated query. Earlier query was on http://www.lawyersclubindia.com/experts/COMPASSIONATE-APPOINTMENT-284946.asp

The attachments is only one paged. A holistic view is not possible.

1.Request for compassionate appt.need to be sent within three years of death of the Government servant.
2.Indigent circumstances should be certifed by the Tahsildar.
3.Though you are eligible for appointment commensurate to your qualifications,it is better to seek first appointment in the ministerial post in the department where your father worked and then get fitted in the technical post in accordance with your turn.

Different states have different rules, so better check in accordance with the local state rules.
