insurance sum received on the demise of the father in 1979, today there is no even any paper or receipt acknowledgement that the sum is received, how can we discover an evidence today that the sum is received ?

why do you want any record/receipt for the payment now?

some time the concerned insurance company may have details of the payment.

Only insurance company or your bank can ensure the acknowledgement of the aforesaid amount if the same was sent through cheque.

If you want to claim the amount, it is too late. However, you can confirm this fact from insurance company.

the evidence may be lying with the concerned insurance company but the chances are bleak as the record is quite old.
