what are the essentail cermonies to be performed in the case of love marriages. if both are hindus.

You want to get married?? Very Good u have Love.& Hindu. LOVE marriage is not defined, or it's ceremony anywhere in Hindu Law.
OK , But you can marry in any ceremonies, Your Priest will get Performed for you, as usual, when you attend Wedding, you see it regularly. Most important ceremony is call all Experts and Offer best Food, as we are advising you for Ceremony of Marriage!!Free of Charge!!
If you go to Advocate, he will Register your marriage, without ceremony, before Marriage Registrar.

whether it is arranged or love marriage, the conditions of hindu marriage should be complied with for registering and also for a valid marriage under hindu.
both should be majors, they should not be in sabinda(forbidden relationship), there must be sapthapathi,(seven steps around sacred fire) tying sacred knot around the neck of girl. there must be three witnesses.
as Mr Shroff said you can also follow the same.

There is no ceremoney for love marriages. But since you both are a Hindus, you have to governed by Hindu marriage rites or customs prevailed differ places to places. You can go to the temple, arrange Pandit invite friends relatives , he will perform all rites like saptapadi etc.

Law and scriptures of any religion do not differentiate between love marraige and arranged marraiged as long as both of them ar eof the same faith. Ot else either one converts or they got for Spl Marrige Act.
