sir, fir has been lodged on 15-12-2011 u/s 420,464,468,506.how many days police will take for investigation.is there any time limit for investigation.and any time limit to file charge sheet before the hon'ble court.

There is no time limit for making investigation nor for submitting charge sheet.

Dear Querist
Mr. Burman is right but according to section 173 sub rile (1A) thye investigation in relation to rape of a child may be completed within three months from the date on which the information was recorded by the SHO.

sec 173(1) of cr. pc provide that Every investigation under shall be completed without unnecessary delay.
So police may take 3 month or either sufficient time. whether bail granted or not

Investigation is the domain of police.

No time limitation can be there as IP has to collect evidence and has to fully investigate the case which depends upon various factors which cannot be anticipated to come filled within a stipulated period.
