Dear Jayapal,
My answer to both the questions are YES.
I suggest that, instead of cross examining the witness yourself, appoint an experienced lawyer who will do the job with perfection and you may get the desired results.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 02 January 2012
Definitely yes but only if the court grants liberty to engage an advocate.
If no such leave is granted then the party himself will have to do the job but he can surely take help pf an advocate to do the same.
