There is no mention about the validity or time limit but Mr Shailesh replied "The notice under section 143(2) must be served upon the assessee within 6 months from the end of relevant Assessment year.

I do agree with Vishal that Mr. shah has not replied the query asked whereas Rajeev has blindly dittoed his reply but reply also didn't come from the side of Vishal also.
