Transfer of Flat

Hi,

I have 1 query. I want to know the procedure to transfer the flat by father in the name of son. Is stamp duty is payable? at what rate? how to calculate it. please let me know list of documents needed for valid transfer.

are you from ? which state ? best meet the register office , registrar.

By gift is the best option where the stamp duty is much less like if it of Bengal then the stamp duty and registration fee is only 1.6 percent.
