The tenant did much damage, removed the cubboard door, kitchen slab broken, etc., made hole for AC not closed, handed over keys to the neighbour and left. Approx repairs may be upto Rs 1 Lakh or more.
This is what happened to my relative's flat in Hyderabad. They are abroad. they entrusted the flat's keys and other responsibilities to their relative. But it seems that the relative did not visit the premises while the tenant indulged in all sorts of damage. So now they are asking me What action could be taken against the tenant for the damages? Please help me with your advice.

If the tenant has left the property then taking legal recourse would not be cost effective. If he is still in possession then you could send a notice claiming the charges for damages in the property. Thereafter you could file suit to get those damages.

filing suit to get damages is the only remedy but same hardships are there again in its'looking after, cost of court fee is another issue.
