WHTHER THE INTEREST DERIVED FROM FIXED DEPOSITS MADE BY THE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION IS EXCEMBTED FROM INCOME TAX ?

Yes, in case the institution has been registered under S.12AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961. However, it is advisable to file 15G with the bank.
