time limit for police to file charge sheet

respected sir,
a fir was registered under section 452,324,325 on 7th may 2010.police have completed all its investegation but they are not filling the chargesheet against the acused till 6th oct.i want to know 'is there any time limit to file chargesheet?' iwant to know will this delay help the accused?

pls note that there is no time limit in filing of chargesheet. kranthi What u said is obtaining of automatic bail in case police is not filing chargesheet within 60 days in very serious nature cases like murder, rape etc .

Yes, there is no time limit for filing charge sheet. T
hat 90 days time is for those accused in custody who in absence of filing charge sheet within 90 get bail as a matter of right.
If you want to expedite submitting the charge sheet, then you could ask for the direction of the Magistrate in that respect.

section 463of the code provide the limitaion for filing the charge sheet if the person is on bail and i.e up to the punishment provided by the said section.
if the sentence is 6 months then 6 months.
if the sentence is one then one year.
if the sentence is 3 years then 3 years.
