partnership deed registration

sir,
one of my client want to make and register a partnership deed.i have heard that there are some special procedures for it. what are such procedures? please explain ?
what is the court fee required ? in which form ?
who is the competant person to register a partnership ?

Point 1. Registration of Partnership deed is not compulsory under the Indian Partnership Act or any law prevalent in India.

Point 2. Whereas, Registration of a Partnership Firm is mandatory in some states.

Point 3. To register a Partnership Firm, the following procedure must be followed:

a)Draw a partnership deed on a stamp paper of appropriate value ( Stamp duty differs from state to state).

b) Fill up Form 1 to be submitted to the Registrar of Firms.

c) Copy of the partnership deed is to be enclosed along with the application.

d) Copies of PAN or Photo ID's of the partners are to be enclosed.

e) Copy of the lease deed, if the business is run in a leased premises. If the registered office is situated in own property then a affidavit & proof from the partner stating there is no rent collected and the premises is being used for the partnership.

f) Appropriate fee (Varies from state to State)

The certificate of incorporation of the firm shall be delivered normally within 3 working days.

Absolutely right. Only the partners are the competent persons to register a firm.
