please do not re-leave client. he needs to be relieved.
for drunken driving, mandatory tests must have been done. if not done, case can be dismissed.
as per recent newspaper report, challan states that police is issuing challn in drunk state. (court may not appreciate this point) but no harm in trying that no charge is against client.
zigzag driving, for want of DL you may not have issue. is it that he has no DL or was not carrying one. not carrying one is not a major offence, you could produce it.
what is etc? please give complete details. in criminal cases evidence will be important. look into earlier case handling by court. please watch similar cases, if judge is considering arguments being allowed you could post arguments.
better pay fine for minor offences.
you could level allegation that police foisted false case for not paying bribe. (of course - machinery can carry ire on him forever)

Yes, practically,it is better to pay fine for such minor offences, than fight it out at court and try to prove that you are not guilty.

i agree with experts. MV Act offences. Two options are there... 1. plead guilty n deposit the fine. 2. contest the case.
