Can anyone please tell how to surrender my advocate license? Is it necessary to surrender my license if i want my originals back? Answer w.r.t delhi bar council is preferred. Thanks

There is nothing called Advocate License. It is only Bar Council Enrollment. If you wish to suspend your Practice you should submit an Intimation Letter regard to this to the Bar Council where you had enrolled and when ever you wish to start Practicing again you have to submit an letter to revoke it. That's it. Discuss in detail with the concerned Bar Council.

Submit your original enrolment certificate issued by Bar Council of Delhi with an application regarding its depositing with them stating you will not be able to continue practice at Bar.

You need not surrender any thing and submitting a letter regard to this and taking an acknowledgement would suffice with concerned Bar Council

What do you mean by " Is it necessary to surrender my license if I want my originals back"? Who is keeping your "originals"? Which are the originals referred? Why you had surrendered them? To whom?

Write to Delhi Bar council for surrender of your enrollment.

What original certificates are with them, which you want back?

Presently during Enrollment in Bar Council the Council would collect the Original Certificate of L.Lb and would send it for verification to the concerned University to avoid Fake and Fraud. Once the Verification is Completed they would return it to the Concerned Advocate and after getting thro in Bar Council Exam they would also issue an Certificate to Practice. The Procedure would take maximum 60 days to complete and you have to wait please. Presently Practicing in Court should start only after getting the Certificate from Bar Council to Practice After getting the Certificate to Practice you could submit the letter to concerned Bar Council regarding your suspension to Practice and get it acknowledged and as when required you could file your revocation letter..
