A Maharastrian family have been residing in Gujarat for last 4 years. They have Ration Card of Gujarat state too. They want to obtain OBC caste Certificate for their little boy who was born in Gujarat and has got Birth Certificate of Gujarat Government . My query is that which state has to issue his OBC Caste Certificate- Maharashtra or Gujarat? And what is the procedure for that?

maharashtra govt will issues the certificate. you have to make application before special executive officer.

I do not agree with prakash. Only the State of Gujarat wherein the birth has taken place and you are residing permanently can issue such certificate and it shall be issued by Executive Magistrate. Obtain an application (specific), annex copy of ration card, your affidavit, the verification by local municipal commissioner and after completion of all such formalities the desired certificate shall be issued to you if your caste falls within the category you told.

Community certificate is issued by Revenue authorities. In my opinion, it is always advisable to obtain community certificate from the native.
If you are permanent resident of Maharashtra, you can obtain certificate from Maharashtra.
Otherwise procedure is same everywhere. Apply with ration card and community certificate of either of parent.

You can obtain the OBC certificate from that state only, of which you have permanant resident proofs like ration card, voter card etc. it may be either in Gujrat or in Maharastra.
