There are totally 42 classes of goods under the trademark act. You have to first check seeds come under which class of goods. Thereafter you have to make your search in the trademark journal as whether such a trademark already exists or not for that particular goods (seeds). You can also make a general search over all class of goods in order to know better the registrability of the word. You can engage a professional trademark agent / attorney to help your search.

Make an application for availability of our product name 'KOHINOOR 'In form no 54 under class 31 under which product seeds are covered to the registrar of Trademaks you will be intimated of your search that the KOHINOOR is available or not by paying the requisite fees of RS500/= .
