Sir, in the 3rd year of my college I bought a mobile phone from olx and after using it for some days I came to know that it was stolen and the real owner of the phone came to my home with police we returned him money and his phone and took it written from him that he has taken back his FIR and want no further proceeding's and case was sorted out ,but after a period of about 6 months I have received a summon from the court about my presence on the mentioned date for enquiry before the megistrate.And the case is registered unde Delhi police act 103 . I want to know that what I can do regarding this ,I am in my final year of my graduation and preparing for civil services , will it affect my future, will I be eligible for government services?
Please do resolve this query asap as I am going into depression day by day.
P.s. I have never been imprisoned or detained, and I also checked online , there is no FIR lodged against me in any police station.

not to worry on any front, just by speed post request the court to adjourn till yr exams are over, they would oblige as you had returned the mobile to the right owners. it is a case of negligency of the owner to keep his mobile in safe custody that only caused all the problems, u have to say very plainly;
if you are to be some magistrate you need to be straight in talk and never ever be sulking ..okay friend.
court is not some police jail custody but a court, remember

even supreme court till date not convicted the chief secretary of the state of kerala for he did not face contempt of court proceedings in a creamy layer case of indira shahani case, though he need to be convicted but for illegal creamy layer act passed by then karunakaran government which supported creamy layer instead of protecting really economically backward backward classes. parliamentarians misused art 368 as they liked, since none of the parliamentarians do understand what is meant by rule of law.

If you have the olx purchase details you can challenge the case in the court and get an acquittal after which you need not bother about this fir or case with regard to your civil services preparation or an appointment thereon.

Have you have been summoned as a witness or accused?
In the former case there is no trouble, but if you are summoned an accused, the issue requires careful handling.
