Rent or paying guest

(Querist) 25 August 2015 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
In my house, groud floor I want to rent but I would like to give it to bachelors or ladies. Would this be rental of paying guest. If anyone from other state do I have to inform the near by police station. If I inform, wont they come and check frequently or harass?
To avoid this, should i have a rental agreement with one of their parents or paying guest would be better.?

let out the premises to bachelors is always risky.U do not know till when they will stay and when they will vacate. If they get job elsewhere they are bound to shift.

In case of any illegal activities happening in the rented house, the landlord is also responsible for the same.

If you are ready to face regular police checking, you may rent it out to bachelors.

Better proceed with the proper tenant after proper police verification.

You might be having the knowledge of the risks involved in the implementation of your decision hence we have no room to enter theein, however, in response to your query, I am of the firm opinion that the agreement should be got executed with the person residing on rent may he be a bachelor or married.

Thanks Sir, Only 4-5 ladies who are working with IT company and students are asking for rent. So apart from registering the other state resident/tenant with the local police, would there be any formalities with other local bodies?
