Hi,
What is the difference between Affidavit and Verifying affidavit? Which one should accompany which documents.
Also what is verification? Where does this come. For examples in a divorce petition, at the end I came across 'Verification'. What is this. Is it the same as affidavvit.
Can you pls clearly explain the difference and which one to use and when

verifying affidavit means you will have to verify the paragraphs of an affidavit, you will have to say that the contents of my affidavit are true and correct.

To put it simply,
swearing of facts before an authority is affidavit.
verifying affidavit is confirming the authenticity of a statement made.

In affidavit: it is a detailed statement of facts by way of swearing:that such statements of affidavit are verified by verificationit is verified affidavit:
In case of verification, it can be done in any type of statement depends on subject matter and not only for affidavits.

Affidavit: A statement written and sworn to in the presence of someone authorized to administer an oath, such as a notary public.
Verification: Verification is establishment of the correctness of a statement given in affidavit or petition etc. or a pleading stating the pleader's readiness to prove his assertions.

so when I present a plaint or WS, do i have to submit the affidavit and also the verifying affidavit. Thansk for the answeres but I am afraid its not clear, when do we use them

Usually affidavit is typed below the plaint and ws and in the body of affidavit in the last para you have to say that the above contents are true stated in the affidavit.In the affidavit you have to say that the facts stated in the paras...are based on the documents and facts of para....are as per your personal knowledge.Affidavits below plaint or ws are tobe done before the registrar of the court.
