Hello sir,

please suggest me regading dowary meaning -
if i make report that all belongings like sofa,Tv purched by FIL in gurgaon and than given to her daughter so i did not demand any sofa or tv etc.

so what would be consequence.

Sir,

Refer the definition of dowry under Dowry Prohibition Act .... You will not fall under the definition ....

The household articles sent by your father in law along with his daughter will not be covered under the dowry item, it is streedhan of your wife. Dowry will consist of all those items you have demanded from them eg. car, money etc.
