Hello
I am writing to inquire about the potential cost for a lawsuit in Mumbai jurisdiction against my brother for a multitude of reasons.
He is a UK citizen and travels to Mumbai every 3-4 months.
If I can get an approximate cost (initial+ final) then will be happy to call to discuss more in details.

The cost of a lawsuit is very difficult to forecast. That depends on a variety of reasons, some of which include the rank of the counsel, cause of action, etc., etc.
Moreover, it will also depend on whether the suit proceeds ex parte or is contested.

It is not so easy to estimate potential cost for a lawsuit in Mumbai, or anywhere.
It differ cases to case, cour to court, subject wise// criminal/ civil/ divorce/ property..
seriousness/ amt involved;;
So many factor..
Parties suddenly changes Advocates at their whim...
or settle the matter quickly!! It all increase or decrease even fixed fees.

consultations are also chargeable . you will have to issue legal notice then file suit . pay court fees . pay legal fees for drafting and filing . in case you want to engage a counsel his charges . etc
