you have to decide where to remove your name and file a letter to the concern authority for deletion ,

Apply to your Area Food and Supplies Officer for correction in the card.

it is your choice to cancel the ration card where you are not living, may one person has only one ration card, if you have two ration card in two different state and not stay more than six month in any state than it is compulsory to approach concern authority and apply to surrender a ration card.

Nothing to worry. Simply ask your chacha to send an application to the Tehsildar stating that though your name is in the ration card, presently you are not residing with him hence the name is to be deleted. He can also ask the authority to issue new ration card after deletion and he will surrender the present one after hearing from them. Ask him to send such letter and keep quiet.

@ Udit Saini: It is advisable that you approach the Taluk Supply Officer or the competent authority issuing the ration card with a letter requesting the deletion of your name from the ration card giving the details of the same and get an acknowledgment so that in case if the authorities find you to have two ration cards in two different places, you may show the copy of your letter as well as the acknowledgment to safe guard you.

The last line of my reply is:
"Ask him to send such letter and keep quiet."

It means ask your father to send such letter. Your father is the card-holder though your name appears in both the cards. If your father writes such letter, and if you keep copy with acknowledgement your interest is protected. Keep quiet - means generally on such requests no immediate action is initiated by government machinery. Once your father informs this, his duty is over.

If your father is holding two cards in both the states, it is better to surrender the card in which he is not living. For that also he need not have to go personally. He can send it by Regd.Ack.

One family should hold one ration card. If there are two it is the duty of the card-holder (head of the family) to surrender the wrong one. If the above procedure is adapted that is enough.

In any case, you cannot be held responsible as both the ration cards are in the name of the head of the family that is your father.
