Extraordionary leaves in probation period

(Querist) 17 February 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir
I am Nabin, serving in MOD as AEE(Group-A, through UPSC), since may-2013. I would like to avail EoL for 10 months for the preparation of other exam. In appointment letter, it is mentioned that, the post is permanent but initial appointment will be on temporary basis.
I am looking for some guidance to clarify my confusion about,
1. what are the maximum period of EoL that I can get.
2. Do the organization have powers to take any extreme steps like termination of service, if I am sending medical certificates regularly,

Thanks you.

You have just joined. So you are not eligible for Extra ordinary leave ie.loss of pay leave.Any way you can apply for extraordinary leave on medical grounds to the extent permitted, thereafter, apply EOL on private affairs by convincing the head of office of your urgency.

Leave rules do not make any distinction between those on probation and those who have completed probation. It is all a matter of discretion of the Leave Sanctioning Authority.

Please note that proper functioning of the office is the priority than the personal concern of the employee.

The authorities are required to obtain Second Medical Opinion when the employee applies for prolonged spells of medical leave.
