Amount received inheritance to minor and his mother

(Querist) 03 January 2014 This query is : Resolved 
The case is that a Women is getting remarried after death of husband and she is receiving some amounts inheritance from the first husband in the name of minor. Is it compulsory to invest such amount in Government bonds or Security received by Minor or his or her mother from the wealth of his or her Father's? And if not invested, how can minor hold all the fund in a way that he can add the fund in his capital account on being major or can the same fund hold by his or her mother in capital account?

open a bank account in name of minor . you can invest in mutual funds in name of minor . number of funds specially launched for children benefit . helps in growth of capital

and What will be accounting effect to capital account.?
