Notice pay recovery

Dear Sir,
I paid 30 days notice period to my previous employer, though they have deducted short notice recovery in my full and final settlement. As per the f&f statement, it is showing that i was confirmed employee and i was supposed to pay 60 days as notice period. but neither i got any intimation or letter of confirmation nor i was intimated regarding the same. because i never got any communication of confirmation, so i paid 30 days notice period, which was applicable to non - confirm employee.
Now my question is "can a employee get confirm without his knowledge or without any written acknowledgement. if not then what my further step should be?"

the management ought to intimate employee of his confirmation . since you did not get any intimation you have corrctly paid 30 days notice pay salary .

Refer the appointment letter and service rules of the company,if it contains any clause regarding automatic confirmation after a particular period of service. If it does not exist, the confirmation letter was needed.
Send a Registered letter regarding your claim. If no reply received send legal notice and after it legal suit.

Decline acceptance of FNF and raise your objections. Based on reply of the company you may approach your lawyer and proceed further under expert advice of your lawyer.
