Hi I stay in Pitampura on rent. The landlord refused to give the house on rent just because I have a dog as a pet. Its a healthy and sterlised dog. Can a landlord refuse a house only if I have a dog. his only objection is the dog. He asked us to leave the dog and then take the house. Please help and guide me. really need help on this as we cant leave the dog as he is family now.

Unless premises of the landlord are under clutches of any rent control Acct where no letting is allowed without order of a Rent controller, landlord can put before you any reason of letting or non letting. All is his sweet will.

A landlord can refuse even if he don't like your face. After all property belongs to him.
