Weather affidavit as an examination in chirf is allowed u/s 125 of c.r.p.c

sir, i have the judgment of the honorable Gujarat high court in which it is held by the high court that chief examination can not be allowed in such proceedings so now in my one matter in which i am from opponent and applicant has given the evidence in which she had filed an affidavit as an examination chief and now she has given the closing. Now it's my turn to give the evidence so on the basis of the judgment which kind of application should i filed before the magistrate court and what should be the relief?

Examination in chief can be in the form of Affidavit

If you were in the knowledge of the mentioned judgment, then why had you raised the objection while the examination in chief of your wife side was going on and if you condoned that action then you can also lead your evidence by way of affidavit.
