How to file an rti?

Sir,
I am frm Assam and want to knw how to file an RTI? is there any charges ?

Rs. 10/- Court fees or Rs. 10/- Non Judicial Stamp Papers, in the event you seek information from the State Govt. or it's subsidiary, and Rs. 10/- Indian Postal Order or Rs. 10/- Bank Draft, in the event you seek information from the Central Govt. and / or it's subsidiary. APPLICATION is in a very simple form as to your query ( i.e. seeking information), containing your name and address, addressed to the Assistant Public Information Officer or to the Public Information Officer or if not in the knowledge, then addressed to the Officer concern of the said particular department. the said application of RTI is treated to be application under Section 6 of the RTI Act.

file an appeal with in 30 days from the date of receipt of unsatisfactory information from
PIO before first appellate authority who is an officer senior in rank to the PIO.
