Provisional sanad

(Querist) 29 February 2012 This query is : Resolved
I have enrolled as an advocate to Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and also received Reg. No and Identity card. Can I appear in court on it's basis until I clear the AIBE Exam which will be in May/June2012.
Is there any provision of "Provisional Sanad" till one clears the AIBE Exam and if yes what is the procedure for it and what legal work one can do with "Provisional Sanad".

Regards.

yes, off course you can appear in the court. But for practicing as an advocate clearing the AIBE exam necessary.

After the passing of the AIBE, the same license will be declared permanent and an addl. certificate will be issued by the Bar Council of India.

As per the BCI's proposal, passing the All-India Bar Examination is mandatory for commencement of practice as advocate in court.

However, the Chief Justice told the BCI counsel that it would be desirable if the petitions were heard by one High Court.
