Physically unfit may get compensation or not

(Querist) 15 February 2012 This query is : Resolved 
Respected experts,
In our private company some production worker
became unfit due to some diseases such as
paralysis,heart diseases etc.they have the
unfit certificates by the civil surgeon(Govt).though these are not due to the accidental injury while working. Are they eligible for any compensation or not?

If the injury (disease) is caused due to the work environment, then there is a chance of claiming compensation.
