Arrivalagan Iyer (Querist) 18 January 2012
Is the patta and subdivision copy of municipality is not a valid document of ownership for a property.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 18 January 2012
Whether or not you will get evicted will depend upon the veracity of the claim of both of you.
In any case, if eviction has to take place by order of the court, it will not be imminent. You will have ample opportunities to appeal against the court order and it will involve quite a time.
But what is important for you is, instead of simply posing a query here, you should approach a lawyer in your area, show all your documents, your version of the story, and try to contest the matter. Just because someone is paying municipal taxes etc., will not guarantee the ownership of the property. Please approach a local lawyer and attend to the things.
Without completely going through the entire document from both sides and without understanding in detail the respective claims, any answer from here will be purely speculative and may not be practically worthwhile.

What is the basis of his title?
Unless we come to know the rival contentions it is difficult for us to opine.

What is the nature of the suit?
If you prove your title then you not going to be evicted.

your query is not not clear about how your purchased what are the parental deeds and it's transfer.without which a suitable reply cannot be given. It may misled you. since the suit is pending before court. consult your lawyer to proceed further with relevant documents.

Regarding the second query the patta and subdivision may be taken for proving possession and the title will not be conferred upon the patta. Since it is not your hereditary property.
V R SHROFF (Expert) 18 January 2012
Once yo are in possession, you Counter Claim, no dispossession without following the DUE PROCESS OF LAW.
It will take at least 5-10 years
Then Court will decide who is the Owner.
Again Appeal s always allowed!!.

"Possession Bapp hai"
Even if i Adverse possession for last 12 years, you cannot be dispossed, and he lose ownership too.
Last but not least, if you have fear, rent out officially half the portion under Registration, apply RAE suit not to evict tenant, & let that tenant be your relative or friend.
Triple Assurance with full Protection.
You must have experience Effective Successful Advocate with you to defend litigation.

Much has already been opined so nothing seems to be added.
