How to expedite a civil case of eviction

Dear Sir,

My father is continuing a Civil fight since 1991, for eviction of tenant from our ancestral property. My father is now of 78 and too feeble to reach court on each dates and nobody is there to accompany him to the court. Still he is continuing the fight and every date is getting postponed due to some reason of the court.

Request guide how to expedite the case hearing. I am an ex-service man and staying away from home.

Eviction is always long drawn legal battle.

He can file a petition before the igh Court under Article 227 of the Constitution of India so the court pass a direction upon the lower courts to dispose of the ytrial within a stipulated time.
The Calcutta High Court routinely pass such orders specially in the matters of senior citizens like your father.

20 years is quite a long time to dispose of such a case. Better do as advised by Shri Barman.

Now a days the courts are giving priority, if the petitioner is a senior citizen.

Dear Sir,

Can you please recommend any layer in HC of Kolkata to get an order of expedition of the cast at lower court? As lower court is taking too much time and my parents are of the age of 75 + and unable to pull on the legal battle for longer time.
