legal notice by email

Dear Sir,

I have some dues to my ex employer,instead of paying my dues they have issues me legal notice by email,

please guide me legal notice by email is valid?? should i reply to it or not required???

they are asking for defamation compansation is that valid cliam from their side or which can be neglacted??

Yes,Legal Notice sent through email is absolutely valid in Eye of Law. No mode prescribed for service notice u/s 138 of the N.I.Act. It is sufficient that notice has served on you. You should reply the notice.

Unless a statute expressly provides for mode of service of a notice, notice can be served in any mode. In your case, as no mode of service of notice is provided, the service of notice by e-mail is valid. If you have received the notice, you must reply it.

Yes the notice throuh e-mail is valid. But unless some strong objection could be raised through reply I would not suggest you to make any reply to such notice.

Notice by email is valid, but the recipient has to accept the receipt of the notice.
