The Property is situated in Haridwar, Uttrakhand.

Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 09 December 2010
Relinquishment Deed is required to be registered before Registrar and it requires nominal stamp duty, though it is different from State to State. At present in Haryana, it requires only Rs. 50/- stamp duty. Transfer of Property Act is applicable in such matters.

I agree with Raj.

Release deed has to be registered compulsorily. Otherwise it cannot confer or convey title. Stamp duty varies from state to state. You have to consult the local Registrar's office for this purpose.
