Hello dear lawyers,
A civil case in lower court has been decided and judgement
been passed.
The opponent has filed an appeal in district along with
application for staying the operation of lower court
Due to corona we have not got the notice and the next date
is after lockdown is over (when court resumes).
My Question is-
The opponent will try to get status quo in our absence.
1. Is it legal/illegal as per law to give status quo
if the respondent has not received any notice?
2. What should we do, should we wait for notice or
we should not wait for notice and appear in court
and do arguement so that court do not impose
status quo on property????
What should i do?
Dear Professional Friends
Section 131A of Negotiable Instruments Act states all the provisions of Chapter XIV of N.I Act will be applicable to
Bank Drafts also.
My query is what is the difference between Cheque and Bank Draft?
Section 138 of NI Act inter alia states a cheque should be deposited within 3 months from the date of its draw.
Is this limitation is applicable to Draft also?
My third query is :
25. When day of maturity is a holiday.—When the day on which a promissory note or bill of exchange is at maturity is a public holiday, the instrument shall be deemed to be due on the next preceding business day.
What is the meaning of " next preceding business day"

Hello experts,
A few days back I had asked about the evidences to be collected against noisy neighbour.
Well, I have started recording the noise. I even requested a neighbour (living on the same floor as mine) to come and see the noise disturbance created by upstair flat occupant, to which he complied. I am also keeping a log of his noisy activities.
I am not sure if keeping a log of his noisy activities will be of any use.
Now the problem is due to this lock down we cannot approach police or court with this matter (as country is dealing with something much more serious and important).
We are stuck in home with this suffering.
