legal notice for non- payment of charges

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 07 May 2010 This query is : Resolved
hello,
I hd taken a tata indicom internet modem which was 2 month unlimited free from the time of activation.
I lost my modem after 45 days of usage. I went to the tata indicom office & asked for cancellation. I written down my request for cancellation on their register.
later i got many calls regarding internet usage charges which i need to pay them. I was shocked as i cancelled my modem during free period only. Then i came to know that they have not cancelled my modem despite my cancellation order on their register. At that time the office person didnt give me any proof of cancellation as he told me that he is busy in other works & will surely cancel my connection after he will get free.
Now i have got a legal notice regarding the non- payment of dues.
Please advise.

it is your duty to get the receipt for lodging the complaint regarding the loss of internet modem.
Without proof you cannot do anything. Just you do one thing once again got the TATA INDICOM office and give a letter to them that I had give a complaint on so and so date to cancel the internet connection because I have lost it, but inspite of my request till today it is not cancelled" like this you give a letter and take a received copy.

Till they stop the internet service, you may have to pay them for the moderm and usage charges, since it is clear that someone else had used the stolen/missing moderm.

immediately follow Mr.Rajoo as above

Dear Anonymous,

Your relationship with Tatainfocomm is governed through the terms of Agreement. Kindly see the terms governing the liability in case of loss/theft of modem and revert.

Best Regards

Daksh

Try to get the register which you have registered your complaint.Take the details from the register and give a written complaint to the concerned person and also to the higher officers.Inform the officers about the fault made by the person in duty.By explaining every thing you can also give a police complaint and also give reply to the legal nitice.
