NO where in the NI Act there is a definition of Blank Cheque. However, the a cheque duly filled in and signed by the drawer is complete on all respects

When the name of the payee and the amount have been filled by the drawer, it cannot be called as 'blank cheque' in common parlance. When the drawer has signed the cheque, it does not matter who has filled the rest of the contents. It is a valid cheque.

I Do agree with my friends.

How will it make a difference if date is filled by some other person once the amount has been filled in by the drawer himself and has signed the cheque. Under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, it hardly matters who has written the date on the cheque.
