(Querist) 15 June 2020 This query is : Resolved
Dear experts,
What can be done if someone changes the door locks of flats.actually there are 2 flats of mine purchased in 2007 lying vacant in a building where few others are residing.i very rarely visit to take care of them.today i went and found door locks changed as i cud not open with my keys.
1What should be course of action on my part?
2 can someone claim adverse possession?

The practical way is to immediately change the locks at your own in the presence of some witnesses with due security and take your own possession and better to rent out the same or reside personally or to face legal long battle by making a police complaint and then follow the outcome of the same.

There is a danger in first practical step of would be dispute which shall have to be tackled wisely but if you want to avoid such conflict then go to police station. lodge FIR against such person, if could be known from the adjoining locality possessing your flat and if not then against unknown person. Complaint can also be made to the society. There is no question of adverse possession in the given facts as the possession of another person is not in your knowledge till you visited recently there.

Get the lock changed. Install CCTV to record any such event in future.

It is not a case of adverse possession.

Thanks a lot dear experts.
To me it seems that the person wants to show his supremacy and to bow me down.
I have decided not to go into litigation but to defeat that person in his mental motives.
He cannot do nything but to break me mentally.
