As per your question, X has nominated Y as his nominee (for operation of locker)
X has appointed Z, through a will, to operate the locker.

This is not correct, Bank officials will go through nominations only.
Will is doubt.
The date of execution of nominee, will, the circumstance behind the will, etc shall decide your question.
