Name Change regarding

Dear Sir, My son Pranav is studying in 10th Std this year & I got his name changed to Rishik & submitted the Notorized Affidavit copy & newspaper publication on name change. But the school has refused to accept the same & say that they need a Court Decree only then it can be changed at the Karnataka State Board. Request you to kindly guide me as I am stuck & my son has to attend his SSLC Board exams this year. Thanks - Reshma Vinod

Ask if they shall accept gazette publication...

There is no need of court decree in such cases. Request them to entertain the gazette publication copy.

If they are ready to accept and proceed, get the information published in the Gazette.

Court decree may take 2-3 years.

I fully agree and appreciate expert advise of Mr. Rajendra K Goyal, and Mr. Kumar Doab, except the fact that there is no requirement for acceptance (or otherwise) of Gazette notification to be asked from school authorities.
