Resignation procedure from trust

(Querist) 16 February 2017 This query is : Resolved
yself, my father and wife are member of a trust consisting of total 7 members.

The other mmebers are also part of family .

The sister is chairman .

My problem is the chairman and members are non cooperative and never conduct any meetings.

We want to withdrawn our name from this trust my resigning .

in this case how do we gracefully and legally resign , even if there is no response from the chairman and other members to our resignation letter.

The bye laws says that approval of working committee of trust is required for member resignation.

I need to know if we can legally resign without having to take approval of other members.

Requesting for your advice on same.

1. PUT in proper "resignation Notice" with resignation date and with proper reasonings/ justifications, to the Chairman, via in-person or speed-post

2. Send one original copy of above, to the registering authority (typically the local Charity Commissioner) and obtain his office rubber-stamp and signature acknowledgement. This is sufficient for all legal purposes.

Refer the bye laws of the trust and proceed accordingly.

Is it a family managed trust? what is the purpose of forming a trust? if the objective of the trust is not met, you may submit resignation to the managing trustee and take acknowledgement. If calling for no meeting is a reason, you need not resign but demand for convening meeting to discuss and thrashout all issues including periodical convening of meeting.
