Hi, I have a small problem with my caste certificate. It was a mistake done by my parents who are not literate. When i joined SCHOOL my mother gave her caste "JETTY" as my caste in SCHOOLING and it has continued for me now also, But my father is a "BALIJA/BALIJIGA/BANAJIGA", i heard it can be changed on producing my fathers TC (TRANSFER CERTIFICATE) from his school. ?? Is this by any way possible... i have missed many financial assistance/Scholarships from our community so.

Whether Jettybalija is one and same as Shetty balija in Andhra Pradesh? Or Jetty is different from Balija? yes. Usually son's caster is always that of father's. but there can be exceptions as in the case of Rohith Vemula, who was brought up as Dalith, as claimed by his mother, Radhika. if Jetty and Balija are different castes then the question depends how you were brought up.

Contact the district caste certificate issuing authority. submit proofs of your actual caste and get certificate accordingly.

Agreeing with Mr Goyal, I will add that do not get misguided by any thing appearing in media without seeing the caster certificate of Rohit Vemula and his parents.
