POA by defendant

Sir a suit for recovery is pending in the court and is fixed for arguments in which my wife is defendant.Can my wife give me Special Power of Attorney to appear on her behalf as she has to go abroad for some personal reasons ?

She can give U a POA,but has to be accepted by the court.U have not mentioned the details of the civil suit for recovery.

Your lawyer can proceed with the arguments. You can have POA from her.

Sir the details of civil suit for recovery are that I had lent some money to my relative in cash and without any documentation and he returned my money through cheque and the cheque was encased by my wife by putting her name as payee and after a period of time relations between me and my relative got worst and my relative in order to harras us and to grab money filed suit for recovery of money by claiming that my wife has borrowed money from him but in fact the amount given through cheque was meant to clear his liability towards me.
