Wife share in the house property while husband is alive

Sirs
we are christians. My father was allotted Plot in Housing board. but later he gave it uo by a simple letter9 (a forged one) written to housing board to and in favour of her sister withou geting any consideration nor by way of gift to register a sale deed in his sister's name in 1970.
But wife and children are there . here whether the transaction is valid in favour of his sister or whether his wife can claim 1/3 right as per Indian succession Act.Because this was the only property to my father.

Your query is not properly drafted.
1. If the letter is forged and proved then it can not fetch any effect.
2. Mere a letter should not fetch any transfer as housing boards have a set procedure and forms that are to be completed and submitted.
3. The letter may not even suffice to be the valid WILL.
4. The inheritance/succession shall be as per succession rules applicable.
5. You may consult your lawyer dealing family/property/civil matters with all documents on record, for a fruitful discussion.

then I want to know the share of a christian wife from the husband's only house property as per Indian Succession Act.
