V R SHROFF (Expert) 22 September 2013
There is guidelines on Advocates' fees Schedule
"Scheduled Prescribing Minimum Fees of Advocates"

* Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, Ref No. Gen/Admn/1829/2011, Dated 29-4-2011
with Remarks: Any Advocate is at Liberty to negotiate HIGHER fees with client depending on nature of work.

All case Differ, so the fees.
Majority of client try their level best to reduce Applicable fees, and bargain to get at the minimum!!
Who stop you paying less than Scheduled Prescribing Minimum Fees of Advocates

For Example for drafing WILL; Min Fees 5000 for Jr/ 7500 for Sr Adv.
And many client reluctant to pay even 1k.
They pay less than Prescribed.

You asked ""Y their is no Law for deciding Lawyer Charges.. you mean to say they can charge whatever they want.."
I say : I mean to say client can pay whatever they want, as per their budget & pocket & need. No compulsion.

No MRP

Even FREE LEGAL AID is available at all Court.
WHAT MORE YOU WANT MR. PATEL???????

And in India, it is Very Very Less Compared to Foreign Countries. No percentage.
