Hi,
We stay in a paghadi system chawl in mumbai since 40 years. Now my Son is settling in south as per his job, so me and my wife also now want to shift to south to stay with our son. We want put this {mumbai} place on rent before shifting. but our land lord is not allowing us to give it on rent. He wants 40% from rent and also the agreement copy. We just want to know 40% is correct value? and can we handover him the agreement copy?

you are a tenant . you cant give premises on rent or create any third party rights on your chawl room without landlord permission . better sell off the room and pay landl;ord his share .
