Sir,
my sister in law is a married hindu, Indian, seeking your valuable advice. her mother is trying to sell her father house (house is registered in my father name and my father is no more now) without her knowledge by hiding her legal entity. Is it possible for her mother to sell her father house without her permission? Moreover, kindly advice the possible steps that she can take to protect her father house from sale? The house is located in Tamilnadu, India.

The mother of your sister in law is not absolute owner to the property left by her husband so your sister inn law can obtain a sty order from the concerned civil court of the area in which such property is situated.

As per hindu law your sister in law have share in the said property so contact local lawyer and file civil suit and obtain stay order

After the death of the owner of the house intestate its ownership devolves upon all his legal heirs and no legal heirs can deprive other his due share.
If any one tries to do so then file a suit for partition and injunction.
