What if petitioner omits to traverse (causes the non-traverse) the counter allegations of respondent?

Are respondent's counter-allegations, which set up as a defense (there is no counter-claim), deemed to be admitted owing to non-traverse of counter-allegations by the Petitioner?

What is the provision in law?
